TD150 – Rig 1

A heliportable drilling rig, built in 2009. This rig is capable of drilling to the following depths:

PQ – 80 metres
HQ – 180 metres
NQ – 250 metres

It is mounted on a Mitsubishi LD400 dump Truck, which is on rubber tracks. It can be moved easily between holes and is especially useful for wet or swampy ground.
By using the Mitsubishi the rigs requires minimal support because all the drill rods and other drilling equipment can be carried with the rig.
The rig can be easily removed from the deck of the dump track and put back on its base frame. This allows it to be flown or craned onto sites that aren’t accessible by land.  

TD250 – Rig 2

This rig is track mounted and also Heliportable. It was built in 2010. This rig is capable of drilling to the following depths:

PQ – 150 metres
HQ – 300 metres
NQ – 400 metres


The blade mounted on the front, allows the rig to level its own pad. It is a very compact rig, for the depths that it is capable of drilling to.

Tractor Mounted – Rig 3

This rig is suitable to mount on the back of a 100hp Tractor, with a maximum drilling depth of approx 50mtrs. It can used for:

Seismic Lines
Shallow Water Bores
Vertical Blast Holes
Wash Drilling

Jackro – Rig 4

A small rig that is very useful for holes of a depth less than 10mtrs. It can be mounted onto the back of the 4wd Suzuki, or flown onto site and mounted onto its own base frame. The type of holes that it is most suited for are:

Seismic Lines
Soil Sampling
Shallow Coring Holes
Anchor Holes
Blast Holes in Large Boulders
Drainage Holes
Cable Holes
Small Instrumentation Holes

Komatsu Rod Carrier

Brought in 2010 for the Croydon job, this is the dinosaur of the team and affectionately known as Deano. The unit is track mounted and has a lifting arm, perfect for carrying the rods, pumps gear, etc between sites and those heavy lifting jobs.

Suzuki

The baby of the team, that has been christened puddles. A great little 4WD machine, that has heaps of grunt and is nice and light, making it perfect for getting in and out of those tricky spots. It is also very useful when doing Seismic lines as it allows the drilling to be completed on valuable farm land with minimal impact to the pasture or crops.
